Delicious cake pops!
These little cuties were made especially for the amature theater group I work with, the Sudbury Savoyards. Every year around this time, we put on a performance of one of Gilbert & Sullivan's popular operetta's. This year it's 'Ruddigore' aka 'The Witches Curse.'
Why apples? The protagonist of the story is Robin Oakapple, who fled his home 20 years prior to the story to escape his family's dreaded curse-every Lord of Ruddigore must commit one crime a day for life. If not, he 'perishes in inconcievable agonies'. Which is why I also placed a little candy sprinkle bone on the apple. The 'stems' are Rold's Gold Pretzel Sticks, carefully broken to size.
Honestly, Iwasn't sure how these were going to come out when I started. But when I placed the first tiny bone on the first pop, I couldn't believe it. It was PERFECT! And everyone who saw them thinks they're great! It really makes me happy to jear that people enjoy them. Such a confidence booster!
As a note; I got the candy sprinkle bones in October, so Halloween season is the time to get these sprinkles if you want to re-create these little beauties for your own Halloween bash.
